  3. Welcome to the Unlimited Winter 2003 CD-ROM.
  4.  
  5. This file contains configuration requirements and instructions for the CD-ROM.
  6. Before using the CD-ROM, you should check the system requirements to be sure your computer is compatible.

  9. MACINTOSH SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
  10.  
  11. Systems 8.1 - 9.1 
  12. CPU: PPC, G3, G4 - 200mHz or faster 
  13. RAM: 64 MB or greater
  14. AVAILABLE RAM (Chip Memory): 32 MB or greater
  15. 800 X 600 display with 16 bit color 
  16. 8X CD-ROM or faster
  17. QuickTime 5.0 (included on the CD-ROM)
  18. 50 MB free Hard Disk space
  19. Printer optional

  22. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
  23.  
  24. When using this product, the CD-ROM must be in the CD-ROM drive.
  25. For best performance, please close all other applications before launching this CD-ROM.

  27. 1. Insert the Unlimited Winter 2003 CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
  28. 2. When Start Up Screen appears, click "Install" (If the Start Up screen does not appear, 
  29. click on the "Install Unlimited Winter 2003 " icon within the Unlimited Winter 2003 CD-ROM window.)
  30. 3. Follow the on-screen instructions for installation.
  31. 4. The installer will check for the presence of QuickTime® 5.0 on your computer. If necessary, you will be prompted to install the correct version of QuickTime (included on the CD-ROM) prior to running the application.

  34. LAUNCH INSTRUCTIONS

  36. 1. Double-click on the Unlimited CD-ROM icon on your desktop.
  37.  
  38. Note: If you already Installed the CD-ROM and then removed it from the CD-ROM drive - you  must re-insert it. When the Start Up screen appears - click "Play" to launch the program. (If the Start Up screen does not appear, click on the Unlimited icon on your desktop.)

  41. UNINSTALL INSTRUCTIONS

  43. 1. Locate the Unlimited Folder on your hard Drive and the Unlimited Shortcut on your desktop. 
  44. 2. Drag them to the trash and select Empty the Trash from the Special menu in the tool bar.

  47. TROUBLSHOOTING ISSUES AND ANSWERS
  48.  
  49. If you're having trouble running the Unlimited Winter 2003 CD-ROM, the following may help you.
  50.  
  51. 1. The Auto run splash screen does not come up when the disk is inserted. 
  52. - Go to the control panel in the Apple menu, and open the QuickTime Settings control panel, select Auotplay in the pull-down menu and check the box next to Enable CD-ROM Autoplay. If you do not have a QuickTime control panel, double click on the "Install Unlimited Winter 2003" icon on the CD-ROM and follow the onscreen instructions to install QuickTime.

  54. 2. When installing QuickTime, what information should be input on the QuickTime registration information screen? 
  55. - The QuickTime registration information screen can be left blank. Click to proceed to the next screen.

  57. 3. You cannot play the Unlimited CD-ROM on Macintosh OS X. 
  58. -  The Unlimited Winter 2003 CD-ROM does not support Macintosh OS X or OS X Classic mode. However, in some cases users have been able to play the CD-ROM in classic mode.

  60. 4. You are experiencing poor overall performance on some computers with CD/DVD ROM drives. 
  61. - There may be sporadic pauses in CD-ROM play on some Macintosh computers with CD/DVD ROM drives. These pauses are related to the CD/DVD ROM drive spinning up. 
  62.  
  63. 5. You are experiencing poor video performance on some computers.
  64. - The videos on the Unlimited CD-ROM may be played in either large or reduced format by clicking on the "enlarge/reduce" button on the video screen. On some slower computers, the audio may become briefly out of sync with the video. This problem can be minimized or corrected by playing the videos in reduced format only.

  66. 6. The volume control slider is not working. 
  67. - The volume control slider in Unlimited Winter 2003 will adjust the volume of your computer, but it will not work if the Mute box has been checked in the sound control panel. Quit the CD-ROM. Go to the sound control panel and uncheck mute, then restart the CD-ROM.

  69. 7. Nothing happens or you get an error message when trying to print the "Why You Drive What You Drive" form.
  70. - Check that your computer is connected to either a network or local printer. Once a printer has been connected and properly configured, click "Print" on the Why you Drive What You Drive Screen and follow the instructions in the print dialog to print the form.
